Working With Me

JessicaWorking with me may be a bit different from working with other counselors. I focus on giving you the tools and the skills you need to improve your situation, and I only work from a plan.

What does that mean to you?

It means that when we get together, we’ll develop a personalized plan for you, and we’ll use it as a roadmap to get you where you want to be. Written out and yours to keep, the plan will describe…

  • what you want to achieve
  • what we’ll do together to accomplish that
  • how long it should take to get there

You’ll find that I like things to make sense, and working from a plan makes sense. You’ll know right up front what you are getting yourself into and how much investment you are going to need to make. No more guessing!

I help a lot of people who find themselves in unique situations.

I help individuals who are dealing with…

    • Anxiety or Stress
    • Depression
    • Anger Management
    • Career challenges

Meet Jessica Richards

Born in Florida and raised in a military family, Jessica grew up in an eclectic mix of northern snow and southern hospitality. Even with a mix of seasons and good home cooking, she never could get the Sunshine State out of her mind, and she always knew she’d be back!

As a military dependent, Jessica’s family moved every five years, and, of course, that kind of constant change made school and college challenging. Finding success, and then later a career path, seemed inextricably linked to worry and anxiety. Through it all, she knew one thing for certain—she wanted to help others conquer their fears of the unknown.

And she’s done that in a big way. Jessica loves helping 20somethings and 30somethings learn to better manage their situations, their relationships, and their careers. Along the way, she has become a local expert on the topic of Emotional Support Animals (ESAs), and she works with individuals and families who could potentially benefit from living with an ESA.

Jessica received her undergraduate degree from the University of Central Florida, and she completed her graduate work at Nova Southeastern University.

In her spare time she enjoys unplugging and enjoying nature: paddle-boarding, canoeing, and sitting outside listening to Jack Johnson with her two Long-haired Dachshunds, Koda and Nila.
